Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons) extends congratulations to Abigail (Abby) Dizon-Maughan, a shareholder in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, for being named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).
This unique and esteemed honor is extended by invitation only and limited to 1% of licensed attorneys. ABF Fellows are a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars whose public and private careers demonstrate outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession.

Dizon-Maughan serves clients throughout Utah and the Intermountain West in complex commercial litigation. She is often recognized as an advocate for underrepresented communities and for attorneys of color in Utah’s legal landscape. Dizon-Maughan created the firm’s first affinity group for attorneys of color with the goals of creating paths to leadership, both within the firm and outside of it, and to reduce attrition.
Additionally, Dizon-Maughan sits on the board of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion (UCLI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the goals of equity and inclusion in Utah’s legal profession. She is also a member of the Women Lawyers of Utah and a former president of the Utah Minority Bar Association. Dizon Maughan consistently goes beyond her legal practice to elevate others and remove barriers to opportunity.
ABF, founded in 1952 by the American Bar Association, is a research institute committed to the principle that a deep understanding of the law is vital to a more just, equitable world. ABF seeks to expand knowledge and advance justice through innovative, interdisciplinary and rigorous research on law, legal processes and legal institutions.
