Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons) attorney Liz M. Mellem has been inducted as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only honorary society recognizing accomplished trial lawyers. Mellem serves on Parsons’ board of directors as director and vice president. She was inducted at the organization’s annual event at Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, in September.
LCA membership is limited to 3,500 fellows, representing less than one-half of 1% of American lawyers. Candidates are evaluated on their effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation and trial work, professional reputation and ethical standards. Other Parsons’ attorneys who are recognized fellows of LCA include Julianne P. Blanch, Richard H. Greener and Charles H. Thronson who are senior fellows and Juliette P. White who is ranked as a fellow in the organization.
Mellem is located in Parsons’ Missoula, Mont. office, and focuses her practice on employment counseling, employment litigation and complex commercial litigation. She also represents clients in commercial disputes. Since 2023, Mellem has served on the board of directors of the Missoula Economic Partnership and currently serves as its board chair.
Of receiving this honor, Mellem says, “Being inducted as a fellow alongside distinguished trial lawyers from across the country is a tremendous honor. I am grateful for the opportunity to join a community dedicated to the highest standards of advocacy and to contribute to its continued commitment to excellence.”
“Liz is an outstanding attorney whose skill, integrity and commitment to her clients exemplify the high standards of our profession,” said Parsons Chairperson and CEO Shawn C. Ferrin. “Her induction into the Litigation Counsel of America is a well-deserved recognition of her accomplishments and the respect she has earned among her peers. We congratulate Liz on this significant honor and are proud to see her exceptional work recognized.”
